Nicholas “Nick” Hagemeier, PharmD, PhD, is Vice Provost for Research and Chief Research Officer at East Tennessee State University.  Dr. Hagemeier earned his Doctor of Pharmacy, MS, and PhD degrees from Purdue University. He has 9 years of experience in community pharmacy settings, as well as experience in industry and health systems. Dr. Hagemeier served as Co-Investigator of ETSU’s $2.2 million NIH-funded Diversity-Promoting Institutions Drug Abuse Research Program and was Principal Investigator for a core project focused on opioid misuse-related communication.  He served as Research Director of ETSU’s Center for Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention and Treatment (now the Addiction Science Center), served as Director of a Pharmacy Practice Research Fellowship, and as Director of Student Professional Development at the College of Pharmacy. He has obtained over $3.4 million in NIH and state funds to conduct substance misuse research. He has published over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and has given multiple invited national research presentations. He received the Tennessee Pharmacists Association GenerationRx Champions Award in 2016 for his efforts to engage community pharmacists in opioid misuse prevention.  He also received the Purdue University College of Pharmacy Early Career Award in 2021.  He lives in Johnson City, Tennessee with his wife, Molly, and four children.  His hobbies include running, doing house projects, and playing the banjo.  Dr. Hagemeier's CV is available below.
